Dubai’s most beautiful beaches
Whether you prefer countless shopping centres, theme parks or colourful souks, there is no reason to be bored in Dubai. Those who are looking for some peace and quiet may head to one of the many beaches and forget the hustle and bustle of the city. A tour along Dubai’s best beaches.
Bright Jumeirah beach
Jumeirah Beach is less than a 30-minute drive from Dubai’s hectic city centre, located next to the Hilton Beach Club. This is Dubai’s largest, best known and most popular stretch of sand. Jumeirah Beach parallels Jumeirah Beach Road and offers swimmers a beautiful view of the Hotel Burj Al Arab, voted the only '7-star hotel' in the world. The beautiful white sandy beach of Jumeirah offers sun umbrellas, beach chairs and towels for rent. Jumeirah Beach is great for small children as the ocean remains quite shallow close to shore. Right next to the beach is a 12-hectare park where people come to enjoy the outdoors. The park offers a variety of leisure opportunities, ranging from activities for children to barbecue spots and a small amphitheatre for concerts.
Al-Mamzar Beach Park
Beach-goers who make a statement by avoiding Jumeirah often head to Al-Mamzar Beach Park. This area boasts 4 artificial but very pleasant beaches with separate swimming areas, lawns, summer houses, picnic areas, 2 swimming pools and various eateries. The romantic winding trails are perfect for a stroll or a bike ride, or board the train for a ride around the 90-hectare Al-Mamzar Beach Park. The 2 swimming pools have permanent lifeguards who keep an eye on playing children. Gentlemen please note: on Wednesdays the beach is open to women and children only.
Active pursuits on Jebel Ali Beach
Jebel Ali Beach is a lovely stretch of beach, 10 kilometres long. This is Dubai’s quietest beach and very popular among the kite surfers who wish to flee the crowds at Jumeirah and Kite Beach. The beach is also used by campers who prefer this peaceful stretch of coast to a hotel in hectic Dubai. Relax under the picturesque fronds of the swaying palm trees, or enjoy more active pursuits with a game of football, water sports and kite flying.

In the mini state of Dubai, home to 600 hotels of which 65 are 5 stars or higher, it will take a lot more to impress guests than a simple bottle of wine or free Wi-Fi in their room. How about a hot tub with a view of 65,000 bright fish in a subtropical lagoon? Or perhaps a dining table at a ski slope while the outside temperature rises above 40 degrees?
